MorganEugeneTackett View Profile History	I need to learn to forgive myself Posted : 30 Nov, 2025 02:07 PM The reason why I don’t believe anyone will ever want me is not because of the way I see myself on the outside, but because of the person I was in my past. I wasn’t the type of person who went around and caused any trouble, but I used to have a certain addiction and I kept promising God that I would stop, but I kept breaking those promises. I’m not sure I can forgive myself for that. In my eyes I am the lowest scum of the earth. Today in church I was talking (silently) to God, and I believe God told me that I need to forgive myself. It’s strange, because I heard this in a Christian series I’ve been watching lately. It’s hard to forgive myself, knowing that I broke so many promises to God. Post Reply

I see secular psychology presenting that ideology. I see false religions using that philosophy. I don't see that it is even a possibility. Forgiveness is solely given by a creditor to a debtor. A debt is owed. A sin has been committed. The only person that even has the right to forgive that debt or sin is the one which was harmed by the debtor. I would recommend turning your heart toward the Lord in repentance with godly sorrow to find mercy. When he forgives us of the sins that we have committed against him, he also cleanses us from all unrighteousness. There is no longer a debt to him, hence there is no longer a need to be forgiven. If you're offence was toward others, then only they can offer forgiveness and they are not obligated to forgive (unless they have found mercy, themselves, throughout Jesus Christ), but you are commanded to go to such an one and reconcile. Own your debt and do whatever you can to make things right with humility. Forgiving oneself? To my knowledge that's nowhere to be found in all of the Bible because it's not even a sound action. I think that governments forgive themselves from time to time. When one sins against oneself, when one sins against one's own self, I imagine from time to time one needs to forgive oneself of being foolish. But the kind of forgiveness we want is from God. The Bible says to forgive us as we forgive those who sin against us. One sins against one's self usually more than others trespass against us. So, maybe we should forgive ourselves for the sins we commit against ourselves. Surely, we sin against God. Surely, we sin against others. Good when we no longer sin. But I don't see reaching that perfection here. Nice when we live in a sinless environment. Then we will have peace in the presence of God. Post Reply

You devalue those that have a lower tier membership which is not "free" as you falsely assert, over and over and over and over and over and over again....ad nauseum. Everyone pays with their data and some people choose to pay in currency to have more features. You have been here for at least 10 years with multiple accounts, with over 25,000 posts, yet you're claiming that the men here are not looking for a woman. That's just another lie. Then you claim that "Amateurs" cannot teach "biblical", with incomplete and incoherent sentences, which shows that you either didn't pick-up on the English language in all of your decades of being alive or you might have a mental disability. The latter would explain a lot more of your behavior here. The topic is forgiving oneself. Please stop derailing the topics to show your disdain for men which are created in the image of God. You posted a link to an article of 1 John 1:1-9 and then made a false claim that it includes forgiving oneself. That entire chapter is speaking of the eternal life that God has shown through his mercy and how that men that say they have no sin are liars and the truth is not in them, but that if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. There's nothing in there about anyone forgiving themselves. To my knowledge, after reading the Bible dozens of times she studying out many topics, exhaustively, to know the truth and escape the deceptions in this world, there is no such teaching in all of scripture. I'm willing to stand corrected, biblically, if you can show me in the words of God where that is. I'm confident that you cannot because that is a worldly philosophy and is indicative of doctrines of devils, as the scriptures warn against. You have also promoted secular psychology (which is Satanic) and battle again so many sound biblical truths which cannot be refuted. You show yourself to be an enemy of the truth and an enemy of those that publish the truth. I asked you in a private message about how you came to the faith because there are a lot of indicators that you have not been born again, having the Spirit of Christ, who is the Spirit of Truth, in you. You refused to share your testimony. I have never met anyone that has received forgiveness from the Lord and been given eternal life, being sealed with his Holy Spirit, that was not eager to share their testimony..... EVER.
